2017

Here we are again…

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know I hate the whole “New Year, new me” thing. I don’t make make resolutions really. I just know that I’ll last maximum a week on whatever fitness regime I decide to start in January so I just don’t bother now.

However having said that, I did make a pact with myself last year (top tip: calling it a pact means it isn’t a New Years Resolution and therefore you’re more likely to stick to it. It’s science really). This pact was to travel more in 2016, which I definitely did!

In 2016 I took more international and Irish trips than before. My Irish trips included a trip to Kerry with my cousins, my annual trip to the Galway races, and going to the Kinsale 7s in Cork. Internationally I have been to New York, London (three times!), Manchester, Budapest, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Spain, Portugal, Chicago and Los Angeles. I travelled 9 out of 12 months, totalled 44,518km in the air over 66 hours, revisited countries that I love, visited new places, and had an incredible time!

My pact with myself for 2017 is to try to only go to new places this year. Many of the places I went to in 2016 were places I’ve been before. While I love these places and will visit them in the future, the world is such a big place and there’s still so much for me to explore and see. Obviously if I have to go somewhere for work that I’ve been before that won’t count, but I’m making a conscious effort to only book holidays and trips to new destinations.

I’ve recapped on all my incredible trips on Instagram over the last few days, so check it out if you haven’t seen what I’ve been up to.

Here’s to a year of new destinations!
