Happy Christmas Eve! I hope you’re all having a lovely day and that you’re in the Christmas spirit. Personally, I can’t stop baking and eating. I won’t be fitting into any of my clothes in a few days! For this Tuesday Tune I saved the best until last. My ultimate, favourite Christmas song ‘Fairytale of New York’ by the Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl. Its the most beautiful song. It really isn’t Christmas in my eyes until I hear this song on the radio. Despite the fact that the theme of the song is actually really sad, it still is so uplifting. Classic Irish folk tune, turning a depressing situation into a sing-a-long! I would recommend checking out the story of the song from The Guardian published last year. It even includes the first demo of the song, you can really see how much it changed to become the finished product.
As far as I’m concerned, Christmas songs don’t get any better than this.
