July Vibes

Let the second half of 2017 begin!

This year is flying by. I know it, you know it. It’s crazy how fast time is moving along! It’s been a really fun and busy month since my June vibes post, so let’s see what the plan is for July.

Organising

So last month, I had a week off work. I wasn’t going away or anything, I just needed a week to relax. Except on the Tuesday of my week off, I decided to buy a new wardrobe and do a full spring clean. Four black bags of clothes, a bag full of shoes, more trips to the recycling centre than I care to admit and… it’s still not finished! However I did lots of work on the room again yesterday, so I’m hoping, after one last trip to IKEA today, that it will be done by the end of the day. Fingers crossed! I’ll try to do a post for you guys on my room and where I got everything as I actually did it on a budget, so it could be useful!

Shopping

There’s been quite a bit of shopping done over the last month or so. And, yes I know this is a bad idea considering I was just talking about organising and having to donate a lot of clothes and shoes. But some things need replacing, so shopping much be done! What I really need to buy, is shoes. I have a tendency to wear a pair of shoes to death, and I’ve come to that point with a number of pairs that I own. I need to invest in some shoes for work, although that’s not as fun as a brand new pair of fun shoes… I also find that I don’t always have the right shoes for an outfit, does that happen to anyone else? Then you end up not getting to wear the outfit for ages!

Eating

I’ve been getting back to my love of baking and preparing food lately. If you follow me on Instagram, then you will often see me whipping up brownies, lemon cake, iced coffees, basically anything that isn’t paleo or whatever the latest fad is. My new obsession? Chrissy Teigen’s Sweet and Salty Coconut Rice. Holy. Moly. It is amazing. If you haven’t had a look at her cookbook ‘Cravings’ yet, then you’re missing out. Any recipe I’ve tried so far, has been close-your-eyes-and-smile-with-satisfaction good.

Seeing

If there’s one movie I recommend that you go and see this month, it’s Baby Driver. I just saw it the other day and it’s amazing! The soundtrack is on repeat on my Spotify, I’m blabbing about the movie to anyone who will listen, the cast is badass, and now I think I’m in love with Ansel Elgort. If you read up about Baby Driver, you’ll find out that they used Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ choreographer for this movie, as all the action scenes are timed to music. It’s amazing, go see it!

Planning

There’s a few good events going on in Dublin this month. Longitude takes place 14th to 16th of July. I’ve been to Longitude twice before and it’s really good fun. I normally get a weekend ticket, but this year I wasn’t loving the line up and only really wanted a Saturday ticket. Obviously they sold out straight away, so I am still ticketless, but I’m thinking I might try to see if anyone is selling theirs on.

Also on this month, the Vodafone Comedy Festival. This runs for four days at the very end of July and is on in the Iveagh Gardens, same place as Taste of Dublin. Again, I haven’t bought my ticket yet, but I definitely will soon!

Let me know if there’s anything else fun on in Dublin, or if you have big plans for July!
