All Zara Everything

It only took a month for me to get completely sick of work wear. Has to be some sort of record, although I will admit that I thought I would get sick of it sooner than that. I think the issue here is that I don’t have enough pieces to mix and match yet. Cue frantic shopping in Zara after work on Wednesday. I really need to work on injecting colour into my wardrobe. Winter is dark enough as it is without me wearing black all the time!

So thanks to my awful lighting and camera skills, you can’t actually tell that this shirt is green. Although it is dark green to be fair. My hat is also green… really need to invest in some better lighting in my room. Anyway! This look was comfortable to wear and simple to throw on. I’m finding that jewellery makes all the difference when it comes to work wear. My Marc by Marc watch was a great buy as it goes with everything, and this Navette necklace that I got on sale is definitely one of my new favourites.

My hair would not cooperate with me on Wednesday. No matter what I did with it, it just looked awful. I never wear my hair up and thanks to this photo you can see why – gross! I think I’m just in that stage of getting used to a new hair cut and learning what does and doesn’t work with it. No one ever talks about that afterwards. All the focus is getting a cut that suits you, but there’s very little discussion about how to adjust to your new hair after that. I wore a kind of an androgynous look, but I really love that style.

So looking super gross spurred me on to go shopping on Wednesday after work. I got a few nice tops in Zara that will keep me from going insane for the time being. I honestly don’t know what I would have to wear to work if I didn’t have Zara! The next items on my agenda are a few pairs of work trousers, a few skirts and a blazer – none of which I’m allowing to be black! Although charcoal grey is acceptable! This leopard print top is one of my newbies. I love the double layering and even though it’s leopard print, it’s monochrome colours keep it from being too much.

Friday was pretty busy for me. Got up super early to go to the gym, ran around work all day and then headed on a weekend away with a few of the girls. Sometimes you just need some time away to clear your head! I love this top from, of course, Zara. The sleeves are amazing! They make me feel like a flamenco dancer! It’s actually a deep green colour but you know, crappy photography skills and all that.
