Autumn is one of my favourite times of year, or fall if you’re from the States. I love how everything looks, how it starts getting colder but you still have bright sunny days. It does require quite a mind shift from daydreaming about bikinis and holidays to looking for cosy sweaters and new boots. I think this is the first week that I have really felt that it was autumn and I’ve found myself looking at coats and cashmere online.
Last Saturday night was one of the last nights that I’ll have bare legs out for a while! I wore a simple black leather mini skirt with a new blouse. I wear that mini skirt so often that I honestly wonder what I would do with out it! This photo actually made me realise how badly I need my hair cut. It’s just too long now. I think if you’re hair is about a third as long as your body, you’ve gone too far! My lipstick is Diva by MAC, definitely a favourite for the colder months, so expect to see it a lot!

I’m working on adding more colour to my work wardrobe. This cobalt blue top is one of my favourites as it adds just the right amount of colour and works really well with both casual and formal outfits. This pencil skirt is a life saver! It’s just the handiest thing to throw on in the morning. I’m still working on my hatred of tights… but I have a feeling that will be a lifelong issue.

My new camel coat has brought out a camel obsession in me. I have my eye on another camel coat in Zara now. I know two camel coats is a bit excessive, I’ll see if I can restrain myself! There’s something so classic about it, and it goes so well with a monochromatic look. I ended up not actually wearing this hat out as it was crazy windy and it would have definitely ruined my day if my hat went flying off my head and under a bus!

This jacket is super handy for work. Until I can justify spending a crazy amount of money on a classic tweed jacket from Chanel, I will make do with imitations from Zara! I actually got this jacket a few years ago on sale. You can’t see the colours too well but it’s a lovely mix of greens with a little bit of blue and gold going through it too. Perfect for pairing with black trousers and a basic black cami. High street shops don’t have a lot of tweed at the moment, the best ones are on Net-A-Porter if you have your heart set on one.

Keep a look out for my Halloween posts, I’m taking the stress out of picking a costume and showing you seven different options over the next few days. What’s better is most are easy to do and you’ll have lots of the pieces lying around at home anyway! Check out my Audrey Hepburn post from yesterday!

Thanks so much Mel! Make up is not my strong suit so a great colour lipstick is the perfect distraction! 🙂
