A little bit of catching up to do! I’ve been very busy the last few weeks so I’m just getting around to a few different blog posts now.
I’ve been trying out a few different beauty products lately, which you may have seen on my Instagram – Garnier Pure Active Charcoal Scrub, John Frieda Beach Blonde Sea Waves and St. Tropez Gradual Tan in Shower. I don’t usually review beauty products, but I think this time of year is when people try out lots of different products to look their best on their holidays, so I thought I’d give you my honest opinion on these!
The Garnier scrub is something I’ve been using for a few weeks now. I became obsessed with charcoal scrubs after using MAC’s Volcanic Ash Exfoliator. Garnier’s version is much more gentle than the MAC version but I don’t find it to be as effective. The MAC scrub is pretty rough, but it’s great for an occasional deep cleanse. The Garnier scrub can easily be used every second day and leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh.
The John Frieda Sea Waves spray is another nice product, but again, I don’t think it quite as good as Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. I don’t think it gives the same beachy effect as B&B. However, I’ve only used it about 5-6 times, so maybe it will take a little more playing around with the product before I’m a pro!
I was so excited when I heard about St. Tropez’s new gradual tan that you apply in the shower. I am awful at applying tan effectively. I miss parts, I make parts too dark, I look streaky. It’s a hot mess basically. So when I heard words like ‘foolproof’ being tossed around in reviews of this tan, I thought this would be the product for me. However, after 4 days of using this in the shower, applying liberally, waiting the three minutes, occasionally waiting four minutes, I found absolutely no colour showed up on my skin. I was as pale as when I started. If you’re looking for a deeper colour and more than a ‘glow’, this is not the product for you. Very disappointing but I’m trying out some more St.Tropez products this week so hopefully I’ll have more luck with them!
Last Saturday night we went out for two of the girls’ birthdays. We had the cutest pre-drinks beforehand with loads of food, drinks and the most gorgeous cake. So annoyed I didn’t get a picture of it all but I was face deep in food the whole evening! I wore these navy pants I bought in on my last trip to London with a white crop top. I swear it looked better in person, wide leg pants are hard to photograph!

Sunday I went to a food market with my lovely friend Jess. We had the nicest Singapore noodles, followed by fresh, still warm donuts. So yum! I stayed super comfortable in black jeans, a soft green top and cute espadrilles. Food, sunshine and a few drinks with friends, what more could you want!
