Manchester, 2016

Well that was eventful!

I love little random trips like our few days we just spent in Manchester. I have to say, if you’re like us and just want to do a fun trip, eat some good food, have some drinks and go out at night, then Manchester is definitely worth visiting!

You may have seen in one of my recent posts in New York that I bought a GoPro. It’s actually become my new baby! I’m having so much fun learning how to use it, thinking of creative ways of shooting and editing videos. I created a vlog for Manchester which is just below. Check it out and let me know what you think!

One of the first things we did in Manchester was head to Cloud 23. It was a gorgeous day so we thought it would be perfect to watch the sunset and chill out with a few cocktails. While the cocktails were delicious – check out the candy floss on mine! – the service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Pretty bad considering they’re charging so much!

We were booked into The Alchemist for dinner that evening. It’s a really lovely venue, the cocktails are so good. Of course I picked the most insane one – again! It was a half frozen vodka vanilla ice cream mixture, and hot coffee which made the coolest smoke come out of my glass! It was amazing! The food was pretty good, nothing amazing, although it could have just been what I ordered. The fish cakes for starter were amazing though. Really tasty.

I loved my outfit that night, I felt so comfortable, probably something to do with the fact that I was in all black more or less! I think the lace worked well with the blazer as when the blazer was closed, you couldn’t tell that it was a lace top, it looked cool!

Afterwards we went to Neighbourhood for the night. It’s the kind of bar that’s got quite a scene going for it, but the music is brilliant. We literally danced the whole night! Plus there’s a photo booth, and who doesn’t love those?!

The following morning, all I wanted in the world was a giant cup of coffee and a heap of food, that’s not too much to ask right?! We headed to Moose Cafe which has a very overwhelming menu, but also one of the nicest waiters I’ve ever met! I’m really annoyed now that I can’t remember his name, he wrote down a list of bars and restaurants that he would recommend to us, which you’ll have seen in my vlog above. So extremely nice of him and they were amazing recommendations too!img_0675-2

We didn’t have any big plans for the day, we wandered around, did a spot of shopping. I’ll be honest, the whole time I was dying for a nap! Once I finally did get some shut eye, it was time to get ready for dinner. We went to Artisan, which actually is right over Neighbourhood where we were the night before! The food there was great, loads of different things to choose from, and the cocktails were amazing! I would definitely recommend the Kiwi Colada if you ever end up there – it’s gorgeous!img_0666-1img_0682-1img_0677-1

So I wasn’t really loving my outfit on the Friday night. It’s something I’ve worn before, not that that’s a bad thing of course. But I just wasn’t feeling in the mood to wear it. Do any of you ever feel like that or am I being a total freak?! Anyway, it was fine and comfortable to wear even after all the food and cocktails, so I can’t complain about it I guess!img_0579

We went to Panacea that night and basically danced for hours, best way to work off those cocktails I find! Also, sidebar, but if you follow me on Pinterest, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of neon signs. There were so many in all the places we went to in Manchester, I loved them all!

Another sidebar, if you follow me on Snapchat (username: okaybee1), you will have noticed how much I snapped the place we went for breakfast on the Saturday. Evelyn’s Cafe is definitely a new favourite of mine. Firstly, it’s like my dream kitchen. We’re talking copper, plants, grey exposed brick, concrete, white everywhere. I sent the pictures to my Mom and she literally died and went to heaven. The fact they had thistles on the table, I loved. I was going to say they’re my favourite flower, but I’m pretty sure they’re weeds…. Anyway, they look fab. The main thing is that the food was also awesome. My pancakes were more like fluffy little clouds with honeycomb butter and blueberries. Heaven!img_0597-1img_0678-1img_0668-1

After a little look around the shops, it was time to head to the airport. It was a flying visit, but such a fun one too! I would definitely recommend to anyone to go to Manchester and enjoy the food, drinks and nightlife. img_0650-1img_0631-1

  1. I love the vlog you made!! Was the GoPro easy to use? I’m really considering getting one, but it’s such an expensive little gadget haha.

I loved Manchester while I was there last July. Where did you get your food recommendations from though? Those food pics are too delicious! 😛

    • Aw thank you! You’re so sweet! Yeah the GoPro is easy to use, takes practice but I think I’m getting the hang of it now. Definitely invest in one but do some research first to see what type would suit you best. Manchester is fab! We had an amazing waiter at the Moose Cafe, he’s in the video and he gave us amazing recommendations. If you’re ever back in Manchester, definitely go to the places on the list! x
