This post has been forever in the making.

Ok, well a month, but that feels like forever! I’ve been working on this Kinsale video and so it’s held up this post. I think since I bought my GoPro in New York, this is the most footage I’ve got on a trip. It took ages to edit because it was so hard cutting down the moments! I wanted to make sure I made a video that my friends would love and remind them of our hilarious weekend. Hopefully I’ve managed to do that!

This is the first year that we’ve gone to Kinsale and I definitely think we’ll be going back. Firstly, it’s a gorgeous town. There’s a beautiful harbour, Fort Charles, lovely restaurants and bars. Kinsale 7’s is a rugby tournament that takes place there every year. The rugby tents, as you’ll see from the video, are crazy! Everyone is drinking, dancing, and just having a really good time. The nights are crazy there too, they’re just an extension of the parties that happen in the tents!

We rented a really lovely house just a 10 minute walk from the town. It was perfect for lazy breakfasts in the mornings, having a few drinks before joining the madness in the tents, and for crashing in when we eventually made it home. 

I think if you’re living in Ireland and looking for a weekend away, then Kinsale is perfect for a weekend away with friends. If you’re not living in Ireland, I still think it’s worth planning an Irish trip around the time of the Kinsale 7’s. There are so many people who travel to take part in the rugby, you don’t want to miss it! If you’re looking for something more chilled out though, then I would definitely recommend going to Kerry!
