LFW Diary

So I brought my camera with me to London, fully intent on documenting my outfits and all the amazing street style. In the end I was too busy people watching, eating, or running for the tube and completely forgot I had my camera. Thank god for the boyfriend otherwise I’d have nothing to show for my three days in London. Unfortunately, he prefers scenic photos as opposed to clothes…

But at least I can show you the lovely Borough Market, which you have to go and see. Its super confusing, there’s a tonne of stalls selling every type of food you can imagine and every drink you can imagine. We ended up at the Rabat Estate where we had delicious Chili Hot Chocolates and Mochas. There was so much pastry at this market I couldn’t even decide what I wanted. I’m easily overwhelmed like that.

Then it was on to Bond Street and Oxford Street for a little shopping… Ok a whole day of shopping. We literally went into every shop along the way. No wonder my feet are still sore today! We spent ages in Selfridges, who have great windows at the moment, promoting up and coming designers, the Nike store and of course Topshop. Their Digital Garden that I wrote about last week was really great and the girls were so helpful and great at explaining the process to people. I bought a few pieces that I’ve had my eye on for a while in Topshop so I left a very happy girl!

Next we headed for the Thames to see the London Eye and Big Ben. It was a really nice evening and its such a lovely walk along the river there. There’s strings of lights all along the walkway and some really amazing views. Afterwards we went to the Experimental Cocktail Club (ECC). Its located in the heart of Chinatown and pretty tricky to find but if you do find it, you’re in for a treat. Its an old townhouse converted into one of the best cocktails bars I’ve been too. All the cocktails were so unusual and I didn’t know half the ingredients but they were delicious!

The next day was another early start, no wonder I’m still tired! We went on the London Bus tour in an attempt to see some of London. Unfortunately, there was a huge triathlon that day and most of the route was detoured so we didn’t actually see that much which was kind of annoying. We then headed to La Fromagerie near Camden to meet my cousin and his wife for coffee. Another lovely spot, perfect for rainy days in London.

Then we met my lovely friend Aideen from All Thats Dashing to go and have a look at the street style at the Topshop Unique show. There were some completely amazing outfits. So annoyed with myself that I didn’t take any photos but I was so busy looking at everything I didn’t really think about it! There’s Aideen below getting her photo taken. We tried so hard to make her laugh for the photo. Afterwards we went on to Camden market which is insane! So much going on I didn’t know where to look. We ended the day with a great meal at The Draft House in Clapham with some amazing craft beers.

So that was the end of the London adventure. I don’t think I will ever book at 6.30 am flight again if I can help it and I think my feet may be sore for the rest of the week. I had a great time and hopefully I’ll be back in February. This time I’ll actually take some photos and be more organised and go to a few shows too.
