London, 2015 (Take Two)

As always when I go to London, it’s a bit of a whirlwind. I tend to get an evening flight straight from work, and then get a late flight home on the Sunday night and back into work on the Monday. In between those two flights I always pack so much in. This time was no different! You’re going to see very quickly that my weekend revolved around food according to my pictures. We all know that I’m awful for taking pictures of my outfits when I’m away, but food? Food I can do.

I arrived on the Friday evening and by the time I got to my friends apartment, I was wrecked. Like completely exhausted. I had been awake since 6am and the thought of getting ready to go out wasn’t exactly appealing to me. Luckily my friend is a red wine angel and we spent the night on her couch, catching up and drinking red wine. What can I say, the girl gets me! The next morning, we got up and went for brunch with some of my girl friends. Absolute avocado fest! Afterwards, we headed to the Saatchi Gallery to see the Hermes exhibit “Wanderland“. I would definitely recommend that you go and see it! It’s pretty surreal but I really enjoyed it!

After the Hermes exhibit, there was a little bit of shopping, as usual when I’m in London! We realised pretty quickly that we wanted to sit and chill out a bit in the sunshine. It was such a gorgeous day so Pimms was in order. We had also made a quick stop at Laduree in Harrods first for some macaroons. Pimms, macaroons and sunshine is the most incredible combination!

Next, I headed to Vogue Festival to see the amazing Olivier Rousteing and Alexa Chung talk glamour, parties and Kim Kardashian. It was such a brilliant talk. For more details, check out my Vogue Festival post and make sure to get your tickets next year!

That night we headed out for a friends birthday. I was so tired after running around all day and having done so much, but at the same time it was so lovely having a few drinks. We went to the Exhibit in Balham. The music was amazing! We couldn’t stop dancing around. I love those nights when the music is perfect and the drinks are flowing. The next morning, we headed for the shops. I’m a pro at the Oxford Circus Topshop at this stage. I can be in and out of there in record time! I tried on a few things in & Other Stories too, but I just couldn’t make up my mind. Afterwards, we went for some frozen yoghurt and a stroll around Selfridges before meeting the girls for a late lunch. If you go to only one place for food in London, make it Dishoom. It is the most incredible Indian food. I’m actually drooling right now thinking about it!

Afterwards there was a dash for my flight. See what I mean about my London trips being manic?! It was such a great weekend and I’m so glad I got so much done. I was so wrecked on Monday in work. The threat of falling asleep at my desk was all too real. London is such a great city though! I’d love to hear if you guys have any more recommendations of things to do, see, eat, drink in London.
