What a weekend. My voice is gone meaning I’m having to whisper in a very husky voice, but it was totally worth it! This was the first year I’ve gone to Electric Picnic. I really don’t know why it took me so long! It was a brilliant weekend of music, food, drinks and dancing. I actually have outfit pictures for you guys too. Shocking I know as normally when I go on a trip or to an event, outfit pictures are abandoned!
Day one we got to Electric Picnic about 4pm. Bit of a disaster putting up our tent, we’re not Girl Scouts that’s for sure, but pretty soon we were all set up. We stayed in Casa Bacardi for a lot of the first night, and ended up at the rave in the woods at 3am. It’s pretty crazy with disco balls hanging from trees and the entire wood lit up with lights. Such an amazing first night!

Day two was definitely the craziest day for me! The sun was shining, everyone was in a good mood, it was perfect! There was a GAA match on first and a huge crowd gathered in the sunshine to watch it. Afterwards we went to Casa Bacardi again before going to the Electric Ireland tent to see Mark McCabe. We didn’t stop dancing for two hours, it was so much fun! Afterwards we headed to see Sam Smith. I saw him at Longitude last year, trust me when I say he’s even more amazing now!
Because it would get really cold at night time, normally we would go back to our tent and put on warmer clothes, hence the random ski hat in a few pictures! I met my friend Ailsa and we wandered around for a while, seeing Blur and going to the Salty Dog stage. Another night, another rave in the woods. Let me tell you, searching for your tent at 6am is not fun!

Day three, I’ll admit I was tired. That’s the problem with being an early riser. Even when you get home/back to your tent late, you still wake up at 9am at the latest! However it was nothing some food and a few drinks couldn’t fix! It was so nice having lunch and hearing the Dublin Gospel Choir preform on stage at the same time. We saw MK and Paul Kalkbrenner before heading to the one I was most excited about, Florence and the Machine. I am obsessed with Flo Flo as I call her, and have all their albums on a loop at home. It was such a brilliant concert and I’m so happy I finally got to see her live!

It was such a brilliant weekend. So happy I bought my ticket on a whim back in June. If you’re thinking of going, just book! The tickets will sell out and you’ll be left searching for a ticket last minute and suffering from severe FOMO if you don’t find one. Just like me the last number of years!
Here’s to Electric Picnic 2016!
