A monthly series dedicated to all the things I’m loving, listening to, experiencing and dreaming of.
Exploring
This month I’m going on two trips in Ireland. The first, I’m heading down to Kerry with my cousins. It’s so rare that we manage to get many of us together, so we decided months ago that we would all head to Kerry for a weekend. It’s going to be full of walks, wine and the best seafood you can imagine. I can’t wait! Kerry is easily one of the most gorgeous places in the world. I would highly recommend you go if you get the chance. I’ll be bringing my GoPro so I hope to get a video of my time there.
The following weekend I’m heading to Kinsale in Cork for the Rugby 7s. I’m not really sure what to expect as I haven’t been before but I’ve heard it’s an incredible weekend. We’ve rented a house for the trip and I’m looking forward to soaking up the atmosphere, and enjoying a long weekend.
Listening
If you follow me on Snapchat (username: okaybee1), you may have seen me talk about how excited I am for the new All Saints album to come out. I have always loved All Saints, and news of their new album has me so happy! I’ve been playing the first two singles on repeat, my favourite is below, as well as listening to some old school stuff too. The new album is out April 8th and you can guarantee that it will be all I listen to for about a week.
Attending
I’m looking forward to attending the COS press preview next week. COS never disappoints, as you can see from previous previews – AW14, SS15, AW15, SS16 – and I know next week will be the same. Plus they always have the best food so I’m looking forward to that!
Planning
I’ll be planning some of my upcoming international trips this month. There’s quite a bit to organise and I don’t want to forget anything as I have three trips in quick succession this summer. I always love planning for holidays, thinking of the things I want to see and experience. And of course, figuring out the best restaurants to eat in! I’m always so focused on the food!
Reading
Every year, I tell myself that I will read more, the aim this year is to read two books a month. I was doing really well but fell off track last month. I want to pick it back up this month with two books. The first is ‘Lean In’ by Sheryl Sandberg. I’ve been dying to read this book for ages. It has some polarising reviews, but I want to see what all the talk is about. Also, I got this book from my parents last Christmas, ‘I Have A Dream, The Speeches That Changed History’ by Ferdie Addis. Anyone that knows me well will know that I am passionate about public speaking and debating, and I have been dying to read this book for a while! I can’t wait to read about some of the most incredible speeches of our time.
Watching
I am a big fan of movies from the 80s and 90s. The hair, the clothes, the ridiculous plot lines, they appeal to me on every level. I am a long time Goldie Hawn fanatic. I mean the woman is just completely fabulous all the damn time, and don’t get me started on how much I love Diane Keaton and Bette Midler. All badasses then and now. So you can imagine that The First Wives Club is one of my favourite all time movies. If you haven’t seen it before, do yourself a favour. Some Sunday when you’re full of fear from the night before, get into your sweats (or stay in the ones you’re in), get yourself some popcorn, pour a glass of wine, and enjoy the movie. I double dare you not to laugh!
Loving
Those who follow me on Instagram will know that I am a hard core advocate of #allblackeverything. It honestly appears to be all that I wear! However, lately I’ve found myself drawn to pastel blues, blush pinks, and softer tones. Now it’s likely that this will manifest itself in an occasional colourful scarf to go with my all black outfit, but on the off chance I do stray from my all black looks, here’s what you’ll find me wearing/ wishing I owned.
Blue Suede Jacket: Topshop | Pink RaRa Fringe Sandals: Topshop | | Beauty Blender Mini Pack: Net-A-Porter | Mint Green Frill Cami: River Island | Self Portrait Lace Maxi Dress: Brown Thomas | Sophie Hulme Bucket Bag: Net-A-Porter | Smith & Cult Faunt Leroy: Net-A-Porter | Tom Ford Chastity Lipstick: Brown Thomas
Enjoy the beginning of spring everyone!
