I cannot tell you how much I love the athletic leisure wear trend.
Literally, it makes me so happy. Yoga pants when you’re shopping? Sure. Trainers in work? No problem. It’s like a dream for the girl who loves baggy tops, comfortable leggings and trainers. There’s no denying that the athleisure trend is here to stay. Just this week, Beyonce launched ‘Ivy Park’, her new line of athleisure wear. We knew that Beyonce had been working with Topshop on this for a while, but it obviously didn’t stop the internet from totally freaking out! Even Zara has got into the game with a cute range of gym wear.
The great thing about this trend is that you can find it anywhere, and while there are of course the very expensive options, there are always more affordable lines. Meaning that you can look great while working out, or sitting on the couch on a Netflix and pizza binge. Whatever works for you!
Below you’ll find some of my current favourite athleisure wear brands and pieces. They range from more functional gym wear, to the more ‘street style’ trends. I personally own a few of these pieces myself and love them.
Nike Air Max Thea Trainers | Zara Yoga Tie Sweatshirt | Reebok Classic Leather Suede Core Trainers | Slinkii White Marble Sport Bra | Adidas Firebird Bomber | Adidas by Stella McCartney Bikini Top
Ivy Park Seamless Crop Top | Topshop Mesh Insert Leggings | Nike Printed Leggings | Ivy Park Mesh Baseball Cap | Adidas Originals Cotton Blend Sweatshirt | Topshop Sporty Ribbed Bralet
If you’re anything like me and you’re finding it impossible to put down the Nutella and pick up some weights, you’ll know that the right music can be crucial to getting a work out in. If any of you have Apple Music, they have an awesome playlist called “Dance Workout”. It literally gets me out of bed and pumped up to workout… for about 6 songs and then I want to go back to bed. But by then the work out is over so it’s all good! For Spotify users, Tash & Dev from A Bikini A Day have a fun playlist for working out called “Fitspo Work Out – Tash and Dev’s #Fitspo Series 2015”, quite a mouthful but a brilliant playlist! Alternatively, have a look on YouTube for a workout playlist that suits you.
