Um… where did the summer go?
Seriously though?! It was June about ten minutes ago. I really feel like I haven’t had a summer because I haven’t been away. But, I’m going to make up for that later in the year…
Making
YouTube videos! I fell off this wagon for a while because I haven’t travelled and usually my videos focus around travel. But I realised there’s so many ideas that I have and want to pursue, and focusing just on travel videos was limiting me.
You can see from the videos below that they’re quite broad in topic! Home organisation, products I’m using and loving, how I curl my hair, and how I plan trips using Instagram. Basically there’s something for everyone! And, my friends have been encouraging me to do more cooking videos, so watch out for that which is coming out next week!
So, if you haven’t already, subscribe to my YouTube channel, and take a look at the videos that I’ve done this last month.
Going to
London! I know, I’ve been there a lot over the last few years. But this is a work trip that I’m turning into a weekend trip. Gives me the opportunity to catch up with some of my friends that have moved over there and explore new places in London.
I have no idea what to pack, which is a bit of a dilemma. It’s definitely become cooler in Dublin, not coat weather yet, but cooler. Whereas in London it stills appears to be sunny but could turn any minute. I think it’s going to have to be the usual last minute packing situation!
I’m looking forward to catching up with the lovely Peppermint Dolly while I’m in London too. We’re squeezing in breakfast one morning on my very busy trip. Totally worth it to get to spend some time together!
Listening to
The Moth Podcast. If you haven’t listened to this podcast before, you’re missing out! It’s a brilliant storytelling podcast, and the participants are from all over the world. Stories from mothers, fathers, writers, truck drivers, David Bowie’s hairdresser, old, young, from every part of the world. If you want to listen to some of the most interesting and thought provoking stories I’ve ever heard, download The Moth.
Contemplating
Not to go on about YouTube, but I’ve been using my GoPro to film my footage which isn’t ideal as the mic isn’t great and it’s just not giving me the finish that I want. So, I’ve been contemplating taking the plunge and getting a camera. Not the camera of my dreams mind you, which would set me back about 2k… Lovely. But something better for me to film on and get better pictures from. If you have any recommendations, let me know!
Social Media
Ok it’s not that I ever stopped liking social media, but this month I’m getting the opportunity to do a lot more in this space. I’m giving two talks on social media this month in work to groups of entrepreneurs, and I’m helping out two businesses with their social media accounts.
I used to be a social media manager a few years ago, and forgot how fun it was to do full shoots for campaigns, create plans, experiment with things. It’s making me realise how interested I am in this area and how fun it can be! It’s also making me want to be a lot better with my social media for Okaybee, which can be a little neglected at times! Hopefully, a new camera will fix that issue!
That concludes my September Vibes post for now! Keep an eye out for my September Faves video which will be live later this month. Hope you’re all having a lovely day!
