There are some people who just have it. Style that is. The ability to look good at every occasion, to have an air of effortlessness, a look that is both put together and not trying too hard. It’s hard to achieve, but I have complied a list of women below who not only have It, they nail it. Every time.
1. Olivia Palermo
Effortless, classic, chic, Olivia pretty much always gets it right. If you’re looking for inspiration on how to look effortlessly polished, Olivia is your girl. I love how she’s not afraid of colour or mixing prints Copy her style with sleek hair, classic clothing with a twist and great sunglasses.
2. Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba is probably one of the most versatile street style icons. She can do sexy, lady like, casual, edgy, classic. I love how she tries it all, and I really love how she pulls it all off! Statement pieces like reflective sunglasses, a printed bag or trouser, a hat, a bright colour all make her outfits. Again, Jessica isn’t afraid to embrace colours or prints – take note ladies!
3. Emmanuelle Alt
Emmanuelle Alt, editor of French Vogue, has a uniform. A great blazer or shirt, perfect jeans and heels, belted coats and sunglasses. It may seem predictable, but with style this perfect, who cares?! Emmanuelle always looks incredible. She shows that inventing in amazing basics works, and you just have to put them in rotation. Emmanuelle dresses the way I would love to look every day – simple, put together but still edgy.
4. Joan Smalls
Ok so Joan is definitely at an advantage being the most sought after model in the world, but she still has amazing street style. She favours an edgy look. Lots of leather, eyeliner, plaid, dark clothes, and it all works. She pulls off everything! My favourite look would have to be her graphic print dress, with boots, a leather jacket and a beanie. Perfect model off duty style.
5. Miroslava Duma
Miroslava used to be the editor of Russian Vogue, this woman’s sense of style is out of this world. Every fashion week I literally cannot wait to see what she wears. She is fearless when it comes to fashion and I absolutely love that about her!
6. Ashley Olsen
Ashley definitely has the more classic style of the two twins. She still has a boho edge, but favours shirts and jeans with more classic styles. I think she always looks so well turned out, without even looking like she tried. Anyone who knows me will know I have the biggest Olsen crush and I am always finding so much inspiration from them.
7. Mary Kate Olsen
Mary Kate is definitely the more grungey/boho of the two. She always looks a little dishevelled, in the type of way that only she can get away with! Mary Kate works with lots of different prints and layers on the jewellery – rings especially. I love her look, even though I don’t think its something that I could recreate effectively!
8. Carine Roitfeld
Carine is the former editor of French Vogue, before Emmanuelle Alt stepped in. Carine does sexy in the chicest way possible. Skirts, dresses and shirts are all impeccable, with a sexy edge, but its never too much or over the top.
9. Yasmin Sewell
Yasmin has fun with fashion. This is what I love about her. She doesn’t take herself too seriously and she plays with colours, prints and proportions. Yasmin is a big fan of skirts as you can see below and boxy boyfriend coats. The key her is Yasmin keeps her hair and make up simple so that the over all look isn’t too busy. Such amazing style.
10. Christina Caradona
Christina Caradona is a blogger with amazing style. Laid back, never trying to heard, plus she has that awesome hair! Theres a grungy edge to most things that she wears but she always looks great. I definitely get a lot of inspiration from her!
So there you have it. Some of my main style icons. Who are your main style icons that you look to for inspiration?
