Catch Up 9.0

The last couple of weeks have been manic to say the least! I’ve been running all over the place, going to work events, Christmas parties, meeting friends, dinners, drinks, shows… the list goes on and on. Unfortunately, it’s starting to catch up on me now. Woke up this morning feeling like shit, so I will be depending on the Christmas spirit to keep me going today!

Last week I had my work Christmas party. For once I was organised and bought a dress online with plenty of time to spare. However, the couriers weren’t great. They kept saying they would be delivering at certain times and never did. This meant I spent five days chasing around my package and having to collect it from their depot. Not the most convenient. I was so  excited to try on my dress once I finally got it home. Unfortunately the dress needed about a million alterations. Where I normally get my alterations done, they generally take two weeks, meaning my dress wouldn’t be done in time.

Great. So I ended up going back into my wardrobe and digging out a variation of the outfit I wore to my fellow blogger, Peppermint Dolly’s wedding, and the outfit I wore to the races this summer. It worked out fine, wasn’t exactly what I wanted to wear but I felt comfortable. I’m keeping the other dress however and getting it altered, so you will see it at some stage!

It was a fun night, so great to get to spend time with my work friends in a totally relaxed environment! Plus, any excuse to dress up with your friends is fine by me!

The next day, I had my Christmas dinner with my girls. It was great having us back together again, one of our friends lives in London and the other has only just moved back from New York so it was a lovely reunion. We headed to Cavern on Baggot Street, which I would definitely recommend, and had our dinner and drinks there. We then headed to Searsons for one drink before moving onto one of my new favourite places, Funky Fish in the Dawson Hotel. It’s a gorgeous spot, not that you can tell by my poorly lit photograph below!

Also, how hot are my friends?! Seriously these girls are too much! FYI, the plan wasn’t to have all the brunettes on one side of the table and all the blondes on the other, just happened that way. I swear!

On Sunday, I went to a private screening of the new Star Wars movie. The hype around this movie is insane. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not one of those people who is obsessed with Star Wars, I have seen all the movies though. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did, but I thought it was funny, tense and Rey is a total badass!

So it’s safe to say that I’m pretty wrecked now. Working full time plus a million and one activities and Christmas shopping will do that to you! I’m planning on finding a day soon to chill out, it’s looking like it will be after Christmas at this rate. If anyone needs me, I’ll be dreaming about being in my bed.
