COS Press Preview SS19

COS always do press previews so well. I’ve been going to them for a few years now, and I’m always blown away by the presentation, the venue, the food, and of course, the collection.

It felt weird to be looking at the spring summer collection when it was literally dark outside and had been raining all day. Gloomy is probably the best word to describe it. Meanwhile I was indoors looking at a collection inspired by water and air.

It’s safe to say I was drawn to the plums, dark chocolates and mauves in the collection. There was a dark chocolate suit that spoke to my soul, as well as a slip dress so light and airy it looked like it would be the only thing you’d want to wear in any sort of humidity. There were wet look fabrics that made me think my hand would be covered in water if I touched them, and the most gorgeous structure mac coat.

COS always plays with volume, something that my 5 foot 3 inch frame needs to approach with caution. Their voluminous skirts packed a punch and made me wish I had just a few extra inches in height to pull them off.

The mens wear was amazing, there were definitely pieces in there that I could see myself wearing. Again, I was drawn to the plum shirts, light pink trousers, all the mauve tones. It was such a gorgeous colour palette. One that normally would make me think of winter, but when you see spring summer clothing done in those tones, it just makes sense.

My favourite part was the kids collection however. Teeny, tiny, adorable items of clothing, including the cutest miniature back pack you’ll ever see. I’ve always loved the kids clothes in COS, but now they’ve launched a collection for babies upwards. There were so many adorable pieces there that I know parents will be dying to get their kids into. The fabrics felt gorgeous too.

I’m really excited for this collection to land in stores. I feel like there’s something there for everyone. I personally have my eye on a white shirt, the slip dress, the suit and a few other pieces that I think will integrate well with my wardrobe. As usual, COS knocked it out of the park.
